Too right, Carl. But then that's the nature of professional football and it's always been that way, even in the very early days. They argue that it's a short career but so many of them squander their wealth that they really do need to take a long hard look at themselves.
They represent the spirit of a community and unless they're prepared to demonstrate that they have that at the core of everything they do, then I will always let my feelings known about that kind of player. Unfortunately, Boro still have quite a few of those types around and until they're weeded out one by one, we will sadly continue to see a growing rift between football communities and the players that they are supposed to serve.
Selfish greed is at the root of this problem and I don't think there is a solution to it. We just have to hope and pray that the manager brings in players who are prepared to spill blood for the cause (eg. Pog), roll their sleeves up and get stuck in.
In all fairness, thankfully the vast majority of Boro players have bought into the club's efforts with their involvement with their Boro in the Community initiative. I just wish we'd see more cohesive and consistent displays on the pitch to back that sterling work up.
I like many live in the hope that what is now happening at the club is going to bring us success. The trouble is, there are far too many who feel that Strachan is taking us down the wrong path, so he's got a huge mountain to climb to win the Boro Community and beyond over what with the all the changes and bad results.
Somehow, someway we will prevail and good times are ahead for us but I think this time will be different because we don't have Gibson throwing money at all our problems and we're having to work within extremely tight financial constraints compared to what we're used to.
Anyhow, like I said on the other thread, fingers crossed for happy times ssstarting this weekend with a hard-fought win over the jawdees.

think some footballers, infact all need to take a good look in the mirror. Do they not think they earn enough what they earn in week is double what i get in a year for working really hard.
